What do you think about the CHI Limited Edition Breast Cancer Awareness Pink 1'; Flat Iron? Is it worth the money because right now it's on sale for $124.95. Is it worth it? Does it work good? Or do you recommend another better straightener that's still a good price?Chi straightener review?

your best bet would be getting a 1 inch one those work the best and dont get one with the comb attached to it those just rip your hair out and the one in the picture you showed looks like i would work pretty well but some tips on straightening your hair would be using a comb as you staighten and use some heat protecting sprays so you dont damage your hairCan somebody give me some hair straightener reviews/help?
I have a Conair, I had a 30$ one.. piece of POO literally! my hair got caught in it all the time and stuff and it ripped it out a couple times too.. that and also it took like 5-10 minutes to heat...
Before ';upgrading'; I considered getting Sedu~ then I decided to risk it by getting a 70$ Conair- so far it's lasting pretty well :) I can't find the one salon version online but this this one has similar features:

And I was told by my hairdresser when I asked him about straighteners, he said don't get wet%26amp;dries, since it's bad for your hair supposedly. Mmm and look for ceramic or tourmaline plates. Thats about all I know. Oh and I find ';flat plates'; easier to work with than ones with the ';curve';. I've never curled my hair with a ';curved'; plated straightener but the flat iron works just nicely :)

but my true recommendation is the rusk straightener... its on sale at ulta for 69.95 down from 99.95... its the best straightener ive ever used and ive had the chi, t3, and sedu(... they're all sitting in my closet)

heres my problem:
in the past year , i have owned the chi, chi turbo, solia and sedu. right now i have the sedu and it just broke. its worked the best for me so far out of all of them, and yes, better than the chi, i hated the chi, it didnt straighten my hair well. / didnt keep it straight. i do use products to protect my hair.

im hearing rave reviews about the ghd, but i also heard rave reviews about the chi and i hate it!

also, when i return my sedu, i will have a 100 dollar credit at ulta, and i dont think they sell ghds theree.. and im not sure between me and my parents that ill be able to get 250 for a ghd, help!

Yeah GHDs are good, I had them for a few years and they are better than most. But last year I got FHIs and they are far better! I have really thick, wavy/curly hair and these got my hair poker straight and kept it that way! They are more expensive but well worth it!makeup tricks

I always use revlon because they are cheapest and they work (at least on my hair) the slower you move it down your hair and the less hair you put in it at one time will make it more straight. It gets pretty hot which is good usually. The only problem is after a certain amount of time (like a year to two years) sometimes one of the sides just stops working. I have never used this particular one, but it should work fine. Its only like $20 so its not a huge loss if it doesnt work. I have a corioliss... it works good, but dont believe what they say about you not needing to put anything in your hair before you use it, you still need to. For me at least. it does heat fast though... im ready to use it in about 5 minutes of turning it on.

My Mom has been complaining that my hair is drying out and even thinning down because...I ';overuse the straightener';.
I was wondering if it's better to just get a permanent straightening done, or would I still have to use a ceramic straightener to touch up on my hair after getting my hair fixed properly?

Chemical straighteners won't make your hair as nice as using a straightener.

it depends on your point of view.if you get permanent straightening,your hair will be straight for a long time but not forever.lol..but yeah.same issue with me.I took the permanent thing and I started to miss my curly but as i said before,then at the end of the time period..my hair was wavy and straight and it looked dumb retarded but its your point of view.soo..i mean whatever you want to do as in have it wavy or your normal hair type.itz cool.but you can still use the straightener jus not all the time.you can blow dry it out i guess or wrap it ever night.idk.different hair types call for different things to do with your hair.

The constant heat of straightening irons dries out hair and makes it brittle, by gradually getting rid of the protective proteins and oils in it. It's vital to use ceramic irons as these cause least damage than other types.
So which is healthier? In the long term, chemical. You're only damaging your hair once in a few months, whereas with straightening irons, you're damaging hair on a daily basis. =]
permanent straightening is definitely the best solution.
it barely dries out your hair, and if it does then it lasts about 3 days or less. your hair is beautiful and straight, and you won't have to touch a straightening iron again hahahah.

When your hair starts to grow in you can see the difference the top of your head is really curly and the rest is wavy, it took 2 yrs for my hair to look normal again. So i just got a really cute hair cut and wear my hair curly now and i love it. Good luck!

Your mom really must not have anything to do if she keeps checking out and complaining your hair...
Just do what you prefer. do not feel forced. And remember if you blowdry your hair well using a comb,it'll be straight without iron needing.color cosmetics

I run a salon %26amp; spa, and every couple months I like switching gears by changing straightener brands. Yes, that means every one of my 43 employees will be provided with an amazing straightener... the market has referred us to the ';Chi Straightener';... a couple of my employees already use it at home and said it's amazing, and I should for sure switch to it, but I'm biting my tongue at this fact because apparently what I've heard is that they really pull on your hair when you pull it down along a piece of hair. I've also heard that there are many different kinds of Chi Straighteners and I'm not sure which one to take.

The straightener lasts for years, but after the first one it doesn't work very well, it makes your hair shiny and soft and very straight at first, but it stops working over time.

I'm happy i convinced my mom to get it and she loves it too! well yesterday i went to my friends house to sleep over. i went with my hair wet and in braids...i have naturally curly hair so you can imagine the afro i had going on there. i have a professional flat iron that cost $70. i can NEVER get my hair straight no matter how hard i work on it. anyways my friend has a Revlon ceramic flat iron with heat settings from 1 to 25. she had it on 25 and offered to flat iron my hair.i said yes and she got it BONE straight! i was amazed because my hair was crazy. i was wondering how hot the 25 setting is on that flat iron so i can adjust mine to the same temperature because mine goes by degrees.How hot is the 25 on the Revlon ceramic straightener?

CHIs are amazing, but their prices aren't. The Bed Head rock star straightener is AMAZING and cheap. It doesn't have an adjustable temp, but it heats up in about 10 seconds, doesn't pull, works great on ALL hair types, and can also curl and wave your hair. It works amazingly well and only costs about $60.00
i have a chi...and no you cant adjust the temperature (atleast not on mine) its kinda expensive but well worth it...its the best straightener i've ever had and my hair is kinda thin

How is the Bed Head 1.25';Ceramic Straightener?
my hair is mostly naturally straight, but every night before school i always take a shower so my hair is dry in the morning. although a negative impact of this is that my hair is all wavy the next morning because i just slept on it, and i hate it! i just saw the commercial for this straightener, and it is like $70, but that doesn't really matter right now. the straightener i currently have was like $10 and it takes forever to actually straighten, although if you do if for an hour it does do what it is suppose to. i need an efficient straightener that does what it is suppose to do in like 15 min.! thats how long it should take to straighten my hair, but does anyone know how it works? thanks! i also heard it has a cool color changing heat sensor on the side of it! - thanks again!How is the Bed Head 1.25';Ceramic Straightener?

Has anybody tried Conair's Pro Ceramic Straightener?
I was thinking about buying it since my hair is really thick(I broke my other 2'' straightener)and I hate blow drying it. It drys wet hair(I can't wash my hair unless I blow dry it and I need my mom's help)and dry hair. I wanted it while I was on vacation, but I didn't have enough money to buy it then. But now that I'm getting paid tomorrow, I just might buy it from target. I'm torn between the reviews it got. I wanted to know if anybody else has bought it before. No, save your money. This will do nothing for you. You need to get a professional iron. Go to a beauty salon and ask them to help you. Don't go to Sally's. You need a really iron. Buy one from a stylist that is a 2-4 inch plates. This will cut your time major in half. Check on ebay for a pro iron. It will cost you about 100.00 and up. Major worth it!!!! You will be happier you did it. With your thick hair you need the proper tools.

My hair gets so silky and straight its amazing, all my friends love my hair. it heats up fairly quick and its really easy to use and store. to protect my hair from the heat, i use biolex biologe biolace somehting like that i forget the name, but its a matrix product and i think you can get it at any hair salon probably and it works great! ive been straightening my hair for three years now and my hair is as healthy as ever! hope i helped:)Would you rather buy a Chi Ceramic Straightener, or a Hai Straightener?

okay so i bought the Remington TStudio Teflon Fiber Ceramic Straightener, and since it has like fabric-y stuff on the plates, can i still use a heat protectant on my hair? or will it mess up the fabric stuff??????

My REVLON PERFECT HEAT ceramic straightener?
hi, i just bought this straightener at Target today. But i didn't open it because im afraid it wont work well. My previous straightener, it was a Conair one.. for $19.99, it was 2'; ceramic, lasted for about 2-3 years. Now it broke, and doesn't heat up :( so i bought this one instead.... but i don't know if it will work nicely... and, how long will it LAST??????

Ok, so I'm looking for a good straightener. One that is going to last a long time. Prices don't matter that much right now, just anything under 300. There was this lady at the mall that did the cotton ball test on it, when she would leave the straightener on for 5 minutes and it didnt damage it at all. It was pink or something, I don't know. But I am looking for one that will not damage my hair, I'm trying to grow it out. My past ones have prevented me from growing it out because it would fry my hair. So any suggestions will be helpful. I've had my VIDAL SASSOON CERAMIC STRAIGHTENER close to a year. I got my hair colored and cut a few weeks ago, so I started using my straightener more often.
It's been working fine until a few days ago. I'll plug it up and turn it on and I also make sure the temp is up as well and it doesn't get hot at all!
I've tried different outlets, but only one of the plates gets hot and the other one is cold.

Go back to the place where you bought it and ask them if you can return it and get another one because It wasn't heating up.

I HAVE a metal straightener and I feel like ceramic makes my hair shiner, smoother and is healthier. But is that Conair Steam Straightener even better? It has metal plates but I like the way it combs through the hair unlike regular straighteners. I just want what works and is best for my hair! i have ghds...i use them everyday of the week. my hair is in really good condition and people always comment on how soft and good condition it is. if you use ghd's then make sure you put loads of conditioner on your hair when you wash it and make sure that its a really good brand conditioner aswell. if your that worried about the damage to your hair then use a heat protecting spray and this will protect it from the heat. goodluck =]Best ceramic straightener?

The ceramic plates help distribute the heat more evenly to get more straightening done in one pass. The cord is even longer so you can have a bigger range of motion when styling your hair. Chi's and Paul Mitchell flat irons are the only straighteners that my stylists have used on my hair.
I use my Chi frequently, 3-5x a week. It takes me ten minutes or less to straighten my hair, depending on how I am styling it. My hair is down to the middle of my back. It hasn't damaged my hair too much since every time I get my hair cut my stylists are always amazed at how healthy my hair is.
My best advice is when straightening your hair break it up into sections to straighten, it will look better and take less time!!! Get the Chi, you won't regret it.

Especially if it's a hot summer day and your hair gets damp from sweat and humidity. Hope this helped!

First of all to protect your hair I would spray heat protective spray in it. It will keep your hair from getting fried. When straighting section your hair so you get every piece. Go over it slowly and don't turn it up all the way about 8 or 9 should be good unless your hair is course. Use a comb to brush it during straighting.Ceramic straightener ?????????
Blow dry your hair with a round brush, pulling it as straight as possible. (BE sure to apply serum and/or straightening balm/gel BEFORE you dry your hair to tame the frizzes) Now, heat your flat iron and section your hair off with clips. Place the iron as close to the scalp as possible, then glide it through(maybe running it over the same strand of hair 2-3 times). NEVER hold it in one spot. Also, be sure to use a heat-protective spray so it doesn't damage your hair.
Avoiding Chemical Relaxers are a good idea, if possible. They do long term damage and are a mess when they grow off. Very wise choice.

first of all brush your hair well enough, because its a porblem brushing your curly hair while you are in the middle of your ironing. take a round blowdry brush and brush it along when you are straightening it, do it slowly to get those nice staright hair.
i say before you do any of this use a good anti frizz serum i have curly hair too, and my hair wont stay if i dont use a serum.
use john freida, st stives, or bedhead i have tried all these and they are really good. even tony and guy is a good brand try to buy a serum that defrezzes your hair. as you are new to these products ask behind the counter or any clerk whats the best for your hair they might give you some tips in which one to buy.
how to use serum, ell just apply few drops in your hand and massage it well when you come out of the shower, and blow dry. never hot iron your hair when they are wet, you may damage your hair.

and make sure its brushed well

Place the iron as close to the scalp as possible, then glide it through(maybe running it over the same strand of hair 2-3 times). NEVER hold it in one spot. Also, be sure to use a heat-protective spray so it doesn't damage your hair.
Avoiding Chemical Relaxers are a good idea, if possible. They do long term damage and are a mess when they grow off. Very wise choice.

first of all brush your hair well enough, because its a porblem brushing your curly hair while you are in the middle of your ironing. take a round blowdry brush and brush it along when you are straightening it, do it slowly to get those nice staright hair.
i say before you do any of this use a good anti frizz serum i have curly hair too, and my hair wont stay if i dont use a serum.
use john freida, st stives, or bedhead i have tried all these and they are really good. even tony and guy is a good brand try to buy a serum that defrezzes your hair. as you are new to these products ask behind the counter or any clerk whats the best for your hair they might give you some tips in which one to buy.
how to use serum, ell just apply few drops in your hand and massage it well when you come out of the shower, and blow dry. never hot iron your hair when they are wet, you may damage your hair.
straightin it in layers
and make sure its brushed well
and dry
without chemical relaxers your hair will get damadged big time..and they'll be frizzy...and relaxers arent all that bad

I always use revlon because they are cheapest and they work (at least on my hair) the slower you move it down your hair and the less hair you put in it at one time will make it more straight. I have never used this particular one, but it should work fine. Its only like $20 so its not a huge loss if it doesnt work. Mine only cost about $25.00 and it works very well. It has thirty different heat settings, and it has a chart in the directions that recommend the setting right for your hair thickness and texture. I definitely recommend it to anyone looking for an inexpensive straightener that works well.
However, even though it is a straightener that CAN work on wet hair, I wouldn't recommend it. It's not healthy to straighten hair while wet, and it looks best when you let it completely dry or blow-dry it before straightening it. Aside from that, it's still a great tool for a small price.

hair straighteners usually below 100$ do not work so well, but then again it depends on the brand. i have babyliss nano it cost 140$ and it is very thick in the ceramic area. that tells you that the more ceramic the more your hair is protected from the heat.
just look around and go by what i said.
bed head straighteners arent that bad......they r like $50-60
i would say conair, some of em' aren't pricey at all! They keep your hair straghit for the entire day. But, as everyone knows, how much you pay for it, is how much the quality of the item is:) GHD or Chi straightners are really good as well, but a bit more pricey-_-
get a chee is is around 80 so its not that bad

u wnat to use heat protecting serum, like tresemme, ghd do one also....anything that says heat protector! You dont want to use anything that makes ur hair damp, that will only singe ur hair when the heat of the straightners are put on it....

Theres a very good product made by Bed Head called After Party. Ir works very very good. I use it all the time when i straighten my hair.
Chi makes alot of great products that will protect your hair, and you would put it in beforehand to help your hair...

There isn't much we can do that doesn't damage hair to some extent. As long as you are using a good protective conditioner ( i prefer aussie moist) and not holding the iron on your hair any longer than you have to- you will minimize damage. Serum is awesome and wont' destroy your hair. I use a little before and after straightening. Hope this helps =)If i have a ceramic straightener...?

Some drugstores and beauty supplies have generic forms of Silk Therapy, but I really like the original. I would rather spend a little more on it and make sure it really works than spend less and have a product that doesn't work as well. Please make sure that you don't straighten your hair when it's wet. I don't like the wet2straight irons because they suggest that it's okay to straighten hair while damp. All they do is dehydrate your hair. Your iron will be fine as long as you don't use it on wet hair. You can straighten damp hair with a Chi Iron, but I'm not sure about your iron. Damp hair is better to straighten than wet hair anyway. There are a lot of flat iron protection sprays and serums for hair. I have tried so many things that my whole house is filled with products! Hell yeah!!!!!! It is the best i have really long hair so i got the two inch turbo chi. it is awesome the only difference between the turbo and regular is on the turbo you can vary the heat settings and turn it off and on without unplugging it. It is way worth the investment. I have had mine for two years and I am not the only one that uses it me and my three roomates use it almost everyday and it is still like new. Problems with Conair ceramic straightener? help! :(?
There's a setting to dry your hair and also a little wheel thing where you change the temperature and how hot it is. There is a button for the drying your hair and one for off/on. I lost the little pamphlet thing and it just won't straighten no matter how high the heat is. I went over and over the hair (using heat protection spray) and it's only drying, not straightening. Even once the hair is dry it won't straighten. I think it may be on some strange setting, so does anyone know what I can do??Problems with Conair ceramic straightener? help! :(?

Revlon tourmaline ceramic straightener?
I have a revlon tourmaline ceramic flat iron, but it takes forever to straighten my hair. My mom says to put it at a higher temperature, but I'm not sure it'll work, plus I am afraid of hair damage. My stylist straightens my hair with no problem. When I straighten it, I have to hold in every place that needs straightening for around 20 seconds or more. Is this just a bad flat iron or should I make the temp higher (its at 350 when I do it).Revlon tourmaline ceramic straightener?

I straighten my hair almost everyday, but I swear I've found my savior. It's by Tresemme and it protects your hair from heat. All you have to do it spray it on before you straighten your hair. It's called Thermal Creations. You can get it from any drugstores like Wal-greens or Wal-mart. It has an odd head, too, so it's hard to miss.

It can dry your hair to a point where it becomes brittle and breaks easy. As long as you rehydrate your hair wheres the problem.

I recommend using heat protection products before using your straightener.
also try leaving your conditioner on a little longer when washing your hair.
If you use heat glide hair products it wont damage your hair.. if the hair is straightened everyday with no hair products then yes it will eventually become dry and frizzy

Should I get a GVP straightener from Sally Beauty Supply or the TIGI Bed Head Nano-Ceramic Straightener??
My choices are from only those two considering the highest I can go is $70-$80 (meaning NO Chi, kthnx)

Has anyone tried the Conair infiniti Ceramic straightener model CS-40?

Whats a good ceramic straightener ?
Im going to go get one soon so it has to be one that is sold IN stores .

GHD is my fave, you can get it at sephora. The others that were listed can be found at sallys beauty supply, check the website for locations.
DO NOT get the ones from the stands at the mall, you can find those same irons at sallys for wayyy cheaperWhats a good ceramic straightener ?
the best straighten i know of is a chi it lasts all day. but its kinda pricey. i am not sure if it is sold in stores but it is absoleutly amazing.

A good straightener is a Revlon brand wet to straight usually sold in Wal-mart or K-mart for about twenty dollars.
the cortex is extremely good=]
thats what I use. it goes from 110-410 degrees. EXCELLENT and it heats up extremely fast
baby bliss nano, FHI, HAI. make sure it gets up to 400 - 450 degrees %26amp; has a temp control dial.
a chi.... or anything that heats up to above 400 degrees

Does ceramic straightener damage your hair ? is it good for hair?

it's not good for your hair. but it's not terrible for it. don't do it everyday, and your hair will be fine. it's no worse than blow drying your hair every day. if you use a pre-straightening spray for straightening hair, it will damage your hair less.Does ceramic straightener damage your hair ? is it good for hair?
straightening hair damages it whatever one you use try using a protective spray or cream to help keep your hair nicer for longer.
I have a ceramic one, it wont fry your hair, but all straighteners do some damage to the hair.
