Remington's are amazing. I use to have the cheapest ones u cud buy (about 拢20) and they were ace! my hair is also wavy/curly and not easy to straighten but they were so good even tho they're cheap! I recently had to replace them because the ceramic wore off. I now have the remington sleek and curl (only 拢15 from amazon brand new! bargain off the retail prce!) which are also amazing! They work so well and you can adjust the temperature which you can't do on the cheaper version. I recommend all remingtons - they are as good as my sisters GHDs! xxx

I have thick wavy hair and am looking for a semi-professional straightener with great results. I don't want to spend more than $50 if possible. my straightener is over 200 dallors. If you want a cheap one go to a convenience store (wal-mart, cvs, ect.) and look for a straightener between 20 an d 35 dallors. don't go under 20. they are usley cheaply made and break easyley ( my old straightener was like 15 dallors. it was conaire wet to style. it brook really quick and I had to turn it up on the highest seting!) I don't really know any good cheap ones. But is you are will to speand over 100 bucks a Chi, Paul Mithchel, and (the one i have) a Sedu.

if you are going to buy a straightener, you don't want to buy a cheap one. cheap ones won't keep your hair straight for long, and can break easily. cheap straighteners probably won't straighten thick hair very well if you have thick hair. try looking for a good brand like CHI on amazon or ebay. you can probably find one for a decent price, and it will work good

I have thin hair, but alot {Not length wise} It always is too flat when I straighten it, and when i straighten my bangs I have to get them wet and then straighten them or else they will flare out all weird. But when I do that, it smells smokey!

Remington s really good, Mine is for wet and ry ahir and I got it a t Target for $24, i've had it for 2 years now and it works great, it doesn't fry your hair and if you straighten it when it's wet it gets really shiny. I don't use it much but it's a really good straightner for the price.

I just started curling my hair with a straightening iron. I use a very cheap 13 dollar conair iron. The first few times it worked beautifully. After the 4th time, the cord started swiveling together and tangeled so much when i would curl my hair. During curling my hair, it would turn off from being so tangeled together. you have to try to find a flat iron that has a cord that swivels at the base. usually at target they have the products on display so you can touch and feel the product. check the cord to see that it swivels where it connects the cord to the iron itself.
i really dont think its possible to get a straightener that is one inch in width that can easily curl your hair under 30$. but here is one that i use and i curl it in about 20 minutes and it heats up is about 8 seconds.
i got mine from walmart for 15 bucks its a andis and its a skinny one those work best and i went to beauty school and everyone always wanted to use mine cause it was better than their paul mitchells and their 100 dollar flat irons and i still see the one i got there
well i striaghten my hair every morning with the same striaghtner for the last year, i got it for like 20 bucks at marshals, and it works great, iv seen curling irons there too (and if there straightner works fine im sure the curling iron will too) and they have great sprays too, (to really hold your hair use ';big sexy hair'; awkward name, i know but its in a red boddle, try it!)


if you dont have a marshals around you go to the drug store and by one for 30 bucks =]

Well first of all, you don't CURL your hair with a flat iron, its not gonna do the job well lol...


Try buying a curling iron. But i know what your talking about though, i'm kinda cheep myself lol... i buy the $20 flat iron and curling iron (hahaha)... but who cares, as long as it does he job.





but to answer your question, i think that any cord is going to tangle. wheather its from a cheep iron or expensive one.


One tip i would give you is that before you start curling or straightning your hair, use the right device. If its curly hair you want then use a curling iron, if you want straight hair then use a flat iron. Before you start curling or straightening your hair, spray a little hair oil/hair spray in it, then blow it out with a blow dry and brush (to get that soft shinny look), then use which ever iron u are planning to use. Spray hair oil in your hair for a finishing look, and you'll be good to go.





If your black and have nappy hair like me, then girl just get a perm and use some good ol' weave or get a wash N set lol

work in sections. divide you hair into sections, clip them, and straighten one at a time.

What i usually do is a split my hair up into sections,





first i split my hair down the middle and put one side in a pigtail the the other side i tie half up and straighten the loose part. Then split the tied up part in half and straighten.





Then do the same with the other side.





Also when u straighten your hair use a wide tooth comb. It really helps. Just follow the iron with the comb. It will keep you from burning you neck.
It really depends on your hair but with me i only straighten the ends. It means i concentrate more on them.
do it in small sections


and repeat til it gets all straight
Use one of the following products:

BUT before you use those try a striaghtening shampoo/conditioner pair in the shower like:





-Garnier Fructis Sleek and shine

And most importantly blow dry your hair with a paddle brush with a good technique and your hair will probably not need much straightening at all, unless its naturally very curly/wavy.


But bottom line is you should buy a better straightener in the long run if you use it often or your hair will suffer. I don't mean you have to pay $100+ but you can get a nice quality one under 50.

I've had a vidal sassoon 2'; ceramic straightener for about 2 years now and it's high time I get a new one. I don't really want to spend more than $40 but I am willing to save up for one as long as it doesn't damage my hair. I have really thick wavy barely curly hair and i have that straightner and it works REALLY good if you put it on the 25-30(red) settings for your DRY hair. do not use it on wet hair it will make it super poofy. The settings i use are for wet hair but my hair wont straighten on the settings for dry hair so i got to crank up the heat! I have the slim plates one...

I have the Remington Wet2Straigth, It's amazing. I use It when my hair Is dry though. I got It 2 years ago and It still works perfectly. I'd really suggest It, esp because my hair Is curley.

And after every use each straightener helps keep your hair stay straightened. DON'T BUY A ';CHI'; STRAIGHTENER!!! At least 5 of my cousins wasted their money on expensive ';CHI'; straighteners that BROKE and didn't work good. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A ';CHI.'; And/or with your straightener you can look for hair products that help tame frizz and just like special shampoos, they keep your hair straight without using the straightener. i hav the same type of hair, and i got a pretty cheap flatiron by revlon. it works perfectly. i think i actualy got it at kmart. and i suggest the ones with skinny plates, not thick, cuz u can get closer to ur roots.

mine was 20 something and hers was 30 something .



i recomend straighteners that work with wet and dry hair because

A) you may need to straighten your hair when its wet

and

B) they get much much much hotter and its easier with curly hair .

and im sure youve been told a million times but straightening your hair (espaecially when you do it daily like me) is really bad for your hair .



its like sticking your hair in a frying pan .



i also recommend buying a cheap smoothing serum (from a salon or just walmart it doesnt matter) .

i used to not use one but pieces of my hair broke off and i got split ends all the way up to my roots .



you rub the serum through your hair starting about below your ears and all the way to your ends and it prevents SOME hair damage .

usually any ceramic straightener, [gold plates are best] works good.

you can get them at wal-mart starting at 15 dollars.

or you can go to marshall's where they have them a bit more expensive, but works equally as good.

and lastly if you have an ULTA store nearby, and happen to catch them on sale, you'll get the best for around 30-50 dollars.

Its a really good straightener, it works better on my Hair than a Chi straightener does, it has a heat dial that goes from like 1 - 30, its a really amazing straightener, *****ALSO***** Remington sells a really good hair dryer(just so you know) my mom is a beautition and it works better than anything she owns, its also at walmart it like under 15 bucks
om goodness, I'm a hairdresser with access to the most expensive equipment there is. but i use and prefer to use the straighter i bought at my local walmart, it actually works better then any expensive one that ive bought ..its called Remington wet 2 straight! WORKS AMAZINGLY, tho i think its like 32 bucks or something like that... best money spent and i use mine on my clients as well.
i have the Remington Wet2Straight one and it works well on my naturally curly frizzzy hair. Just make sure you put it on highest heat and put some hair product or lotion and youll get beautiful results =)
