Can somebody please recommend me a cheap straightener that works

I have medium thick hair.

It's almost straight naturally so I don't need something really fancy.

Under 30$ please.

:)

Oh, and what do I do to protect my hair from being damaged? Do I use straightening serum/heat protector?

For your iron, ALWAYS use something that says it has ceramic plates. Brand REALLY doesn't matter! Ceramic does less damage to your hair than metal plates, and works just great.

For a little nudge over the top, buy yourself some Paul Mitchel Super Skinny Serum. It'll help your hair dry faster (and you should always be straightening DRY hair to keep from dammaging it) and it will protect from the heat. GREAT product, DON'T buy it ANYWHERE but a salon. Salon will honestly give you a better price than the drug store will, AND you will be GARUNTEED a good (not counterfit) product that has NOT expired.

I think you can get an iron at Walgreens or CVS for around $20 and the Paul Mitchel stuff for about $15. Hope $35 is cool.
