Do Wet to Set Ceramic Straighteners actually work?

do they still fry your hair - are they still effective - is it really less time? it seems too good to be true!Do Wet to Set Ceramic Straighteners actually work?
No they don't work. They fry your hair and it takes forever to do your whole head. Totally a piece of crap.Do Wet to Set Ceramic Straighteners actually work?
iT STiLL FRYS UR HAiR, ALWYS STRAiGHTEN UR HAiR DRY BUT A GOOD WET 2 SET CERAMiC STRAiGHTNER iS REMiNGTONS!
Some don't but the Sedu straightner really works. It is totally worth the price. Go to folica.com and look at all the before and after pictures! Most of them are amazing!!!!
I bet it kills ur hair, I wouldn't try it.
ive never understood them cause they have to be really bad for your hair.... but they claim that they make your hair healthy!
i bought one of those and it killed my hair!! when i used it all i heard was my hair breaking!! i dont recommend it for wet hair but when i used it on dry hair it was great b/c u can set it to different settings!!!
They suck if you try straightening your hair when it is wet....that kind of straightener is actually work better for your hair.. but you have to blow dry your hair and then straighten it...it works a lot better!!
yeah they work but you shouldn't do that....It kills your hair

What are the best type of battery powered ceramic straighteners? Price and where to buy would be great too!?

I have tried many types of straighteners. However it will be tough to find a battery operated one that will have the ablility to heat up like a regular one. The one I personally think is on the market is a CHI straightening iron. They were the orginal ceramic irons and have pattened the technology. You can get them in solons for about $130 or try ebay to see if you can get them cheaper. IF you have a Trade Secrets in your local Mall they sell them as well. However when if you choose to buy this straightener keep the original box. If anything goes wrong with it, they will replace it or fix it for free if you have the original box.

Hope this helped. What are the best type of battery powered ceramic straighteners? Price and where to buy would be great too!?
Try Argos, they are cheap and have lots of things for hairstyling. What are the best type of battery powered ceramic straighteners? Price and where to buy would be great too!?
the best ceramic straighteners is HAI and try ebay much cheaper...

Do we need to use heat protectors while using ceramic straighteners?

yes, my friend got second degree burns from a ceramic straightner because she accidently dropped it and it burnt her chin and chest.

It actually stuck to her skin.

Great ceramic straighteners for my hair?

WHAT IS A VERY GOOD STRAIGHTENER THAT DOESNT MAKE MY HAIR LOOK REALLY DRY? ANY KIND OF BRAND? I HAVE VERY WAVY HAIR AND LIKE TO STRAIGHTEN MY HAIR TO LOOK BETTER!! AND IDEAS? AND NOT REALLY EXPENSIVE ONES.Great ceramic straighteners for my hair?
You're going to want to spend a bit more on a ceramic straightener. If you go cheap, the product might not be salon quality and the heat could damage your hair. I love folica.com because it gives reviews of straighteners, offers money back guarantee, and people even download pics to show what their hair looks like before/after straightening! Check it out...I bought mine through there, and I LOVE it (I got the 'Solia'). The link below takes you straight to the best flat irons, comments, and ratings!Great ceramic straighteners for my hair?
I recommend to all my clients the CHI Flat iron it is the one professionals use. This is a ceramic Iron with temperature control and positive ions in it that make the hair shinny If you want a good straightener you are going to pay good money a CHI in NY cost about 110.00 us dollars. Now there is the T3 Iron that works on wet hair going from wet to dry in one step you are looking at about 300. us dollars. But just remember you are only going to buy this once and it should last a long long time so it is worth it! you get what you pay for. you can find these in most beauty supply stores or go to your local salon and ask them if they would order it for you from there professional sales Representative. They also sell them in most malls they have a small stand go to your local mall and ask the service center if they have any vender's that sell ceramic flat iron

Other ceramic straighteners \ FHI, PAUL BROWN
If you don't want your hair to look frizzy, you're better off getting a good ceramic straightener that you know will last and not wreck your hair. I find it alot quicker and more effective to blowdry the hair mostly straight before straightening...that way you don't have to go over the hair as many times. I would recommend a GHD or Silver Bullet....they are a little expensive, but should last many years.
Chi is absoulty the best .. i know its slightly expensive but they are begginging to be sold at wallgreens and ulta
As people were saying CHI is a bit more pricy but it is the BEST for your hair. Also if you have a Bed Bath and Beyond ( i know weird) near you they have them for $120 and if you have a 20% off coupon you can get it for like $100. You can go to their website and sign up for a mailing list or something and they will mail you a coupon. Also they accept competitors coupons so you could use like a linens n things coupon too. Thats where I got mine from and its amazing. TRUST me you'll be able to tell the difference!
i like babyliss ceramic tourmaline strasighteners they can get really hot and you can control the heat settings i usually have mine on 180 because it makes my hair shiny
You can get a good ceramic straightener for fairly cheap nowadays. I recommend the Satin Finish Ultra Slim Hair Straightener by Conair. It should be about $20. If you don't want your hair to get really dry, the quality of the hair protectants you use beforehand is more important than the quality of the straightener. Use a hair protectant by Herbal Essences beforehand and make sure your hair is completely dry before you straighten your hair.

See a picture of the straightener at:

http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/I/21K9V3NFQ4L.jpg

Hope that helps. I have used a lot of different straighteners before and this one has given me the best results.
CHI is good but a bit costly. so try CONAIR or braun

Is it true that ceramic straighteners are better?

yes, they distribute the heat better than metal plates, which helps prevent hair damage, and hot spots, and often are made now to realse negative ions. that further help reduce frizz! They are notably better:)Is it true that ceramic straighteners are better?
yep. they are better for your hair. That's the reason they're more expensive, cause they don't destroy' your hair as much. i dye my hair all the time, so i need something that's not going to make my hair worse (im a little bit protective of my hair lol) but if you don't really mind/ you don't dye your hair that often then its not the biggest deal.

But yes. the simple answer is yes they are better because the technology used was created by hairdressers who know how to treat hair.Is it true that ceramic straighteners are better?
yes, ceramic straighteners work better and are way better for your hair too. Conair infiniti straighteners are good, or any brand like that. they damage your hair a lot less.
Yes the ceramic straighteners are much better they heat up better and they also are ALOT better for your hair!!!!! also if u can choose between a wide or skinny sized straightener get a skinny 1. Hope this helps
Yes...they don't damage it as much even though every heat appliance will damage hair they also don't snag hair as easily as the other ones do...just make sure you use a heat protect ant...
yes! they are the bomb! i use one on my hair once week and that's because that straightener keeps my hair straight for at least 2 days!!!
i have a ceramic straightener and my hair is very healthy and shiny
oh, yes ceramic doesn't damage yer hair. and Chi is personally the best to me :)

  • Can you use ceramic straighteners for Afro hair if yes which straighteners do you recommend?

i hate relaxing my hair..so i was wondering if you can straighten it with ceramic

does it hurt when you straighten your hairCan you use ceramic straighteners for Afro hair if yes which straighteners do you recommend?
Yes, you can straighten natural hair with ceramic irons, but you may wanna get the hang of using a flat iron before spending hundreds of $$ on a ceramic. You can get great results just using a cheap ceramic-coated flat-iron that by Conair(paid about $20 for it at Wal-mart). My stylist uses the CHI brand flat-iron and its accompanying styling products. Here is my weekly hair wash/straighten routine:

    1. Comb hair to remove tangles and separate into several ponytails (about 6 works for me).

    2. Shampoo/rinse each ponytail individually, while finger-combing to prevent tangles.

    3. Condition with a moisturizing conditioner and rinse.

    4. Comb and apply a water-based moisturizer. I also like to use John Frieda's Frizz Ease Serum to seal the moisture and prevent frizziness.

    5. Dry...I don't like blow drying b/c I get puffy hair and split ends, so I allow mine to dry in the small ponytails. If you choose this method, the roots of your hair will dry straighter from the tightness of the elastic bands/ponytail holder.

    6. Apply a thermal protectant(Frizz Ease works for this!) and flat-iron each ponytail indivually. Part and comb out small sections less than 1 inch wide...Be sure to pull the hair taut-it allows you to get close to the roots without burning the scalp. IF YOU BURN YOUR SCALP, IT WILL HURT!! Otherwise, no, straightening your hair does not hurt...it's just a little time consuming. I developed my routine based on things I found at this website: www.blackhairmedia.com Just click on the forum link at the left and you'll find a wealth of info on both relaxed and natural hair care. By the way, my hair is relaxed, about mid-back length, but I have 2 inches of unrelaxed roots so I get better results with the wide plates, if your hair is shorter/thinner, you may like the 1/2 inch plates..Walmart sells a ceramic-coated one in this size for under $20 also...good luck! I would love to know how it worked for you :)Can you use ceramic straighteners for Afro hair if yes which straighteners do you recommend?
Yes you can and no it doesn't hurt. I use one. I have a HotTools flat iron and I love it. Since your hair is relaxed you need to keep it on low heat...no higher than 4. Chi flat irons are really good too but they are expensive.
Try the T3 Tourmaline ionic, it's great. You can get it at Sephora or drugstore.com. Be ready to plunk down $200...............
It all depends on the texture of your hair if it is course you might have a use a hot comb to get it straight and then wrap it to keep it straight. If is is soft than try Gold-n- Hot they make great flat irons.
I have no idea how the ceramic straighteners would work on afro hair, but I would think it would be ok..

If you want to minimize any damage to your hair perhaps you want to use just a regular blow dryer?
yes you can its better to use the flat iron with the gold. Its made specialy for american_americans hair i think you shpuld use the avon.
Yes you can straighten hair w/a ceramic straightener for Afro hair... And No, it doesnt hurt... It will hurt if you pull in it to hard, but not really...

but first try to blow dry you hair then use the straightener
of course you can use a ceramic straightener for black hair.

I can't recommend one, but basically anyone.

oh...wait a minute try chi flat iron

And why whould it hurt to straighten your hair. Hair is dead. just make sure you don't burn your hair by leaving the flat iron on your hair to long.

I would think you can only burn yourself if you have the flat iron to close to you head if you want to straighten out your edges

But if I was you since you have never did you own hair you should go to a salon (an african american one) they will help you
I don't know about ceramic, but I have used a hot comb (remember). It does not hurt. I had my hair straightened by my beautician. You can try that too.
I have a ceramic iron that I got from Wal-Mart. My hair isn't afro but if you condition and blow dry it, you should be able to straighten it.
Ceramic is a good start for choosing the right straightener. I would definitely recommend the Chi. You can find it at almost any retail store now...one being Bed Bath %26amp; Beyond.

As for the health of your hair, all heat/styling products will damage your hair to some extent-but nothing that you will really notice. It's much safer on your hair than a relaxer. The Chi works so well and it will make your hair perfectly straight. It heats up so fast, probably in about 30 seconds, and it's ready to use. It's a little pricey-about $100-$130. But you will never have to buy another straightener again. And say good-bye to relaxers. It doesn't hurt at all! If you are nervous about using it or don't think you are doing it right...bring it with you next time you get a haircut or styling from your hairdresser and ask them to show you how to use it.
I HAVE NATURALLY CURLY HAIR. I DON'T LIKE TO USE CHEMICAL STRAIGHTENERS, AS SOMETIMES I LIKE TO GO NATURAL. I USE THE GOLD N HOT FLAT IRON, WHICH WORKS ON DRY OR WET HAIR. IT STRAIGHTENS MY HAIR JUST LIKE A FRESH PERM.
yes i would recommend a ceramic straightener because it does a better job compared to plain metal ones and is less harmful to the hair. i would recommend a thin one (like vidal sasson) so that it can get the roots straight and the ends straight. if you get a thicker one it doesn't really reach the root part well.
My roommate straightens her hair with a straightener.

She uses a 15 dollar straightner from revlon, it's red. it gets really really hot. (and i have scars to prove it, but i'm just not careful enough.)
Product revews, price comparison and best price.

Ceramic straighteners? How often and how to use?

On Thursday I got my waist length hair all cut off into a shoulder length layered bob.

    *sob*wail*!!!

It was for the best - its been in bad condition since I had my son, falling out in handfuls so its gone thin and I haven't got time to look after it like I used to (I used to oil it 4 times a week) so I decided to go for the chop.

However - the new style I have needs straightening as my hair is prone to kinks and frizz and it would look awful on a shorter layered cut.

I'm worried about straightening it tho. Does it damage your hair? How many times a week should you do it? How can you do it without frying your hair and ruining the condition? I want to grow it long again eventually so don't want to destroy the condition and end up having it all cut off!!!

Any tips would be greatfully received as I'm very new to all this, having always had very long hair that I just plaited or tied back to keep it out of the way.Ceramic straighteners? How often and how to use?
I recommend Remington Straighteners S2003..they do go quite hot but work quickly and very effectively...if you use a heat protection spray before use then you will reduce/ prevent heat damage...I wouldn't recommend using them everyday but they keep hair straight overnight so it shouldn't be too much of a problem. I got mine for £25 from Amazon after they were reduced from £50.

If you don't like these, go on Google and search for straightners for short hair. They will have reviews on which ones work best for your hair type.

Also, I would maybe recommend an intesive care mask for your hair once weekly/monthly so you keep the good condition. These are available from supermarkets, internet, Boots, Superdrug, most general shops really.

Good luck and all the best...Alice xxxxCeramic straighteners? How often and how to use?
The best straightener to use is the Chi.

Its very hot but it takes minimum time to do your hair.

Only straighten it about every other day or scrunch your hair.

Alternate between or also one day blow dry it and curl it that isnt as much damage.
yea straghting does a ton of damage, But before straghting put on a protecter like hair spry before straghtingand it will do less damage
    CONAIR STRAIGHTER
straightening is fine as long as you prepare the hair first by using pleny of conditioner and then make sure its completly dry before using the straighteners on it. apply a heat protection spray then section the hair starting at the nape of the neck and work your way up. never straighten a section more than twice. 3 times a week is ok to straighten your hair. in between you can blast kinks out with your dryer
Make sure you always use a spray or serum designed for straightening. A coupple of times a week is better than every day. Glass straighteners are good too- speak to your hairdressers for advice on the best things to use.

If you only ever platted your hair or tied it up there was no point having it long- have fun with it now- wear it down lots!!

Dont worry about always straightening- you could put in some moose or serum and scrunch it- waves are in too!!
There are plenty of products you can buy to put in your hair while it's damp or before you straighten it to protect it. You can straighten it as often as you like, but remember to get your ends trimmed more often because of the split ends you'll get.
I have hair that hates to do what I want it too. so I bought some good straighters ( babilys 230 ) and now it stays straight. I have a fringe so i do have to straightien it every day but on a lower heat setting to avoid damge to my hair

( I love It far to much ) I use a heat protection spray also ( lee stanford it makes straightiening easyer and its smells good too).

My hair is lightened to veryblonde can I use ceramic straighteners on it?

if so what will stop it going very ';flyaway and brittle';?My hair is lightened to veryblonde can I use ceramic straighteners on it?
you can, but it will ruin ur hair, and there is nothing u can do to stop that.

u can use, anti frizz products, deep repair conditioning treatments, and stuff like wax and hairspray, and u can put a straightening heat protector cream/serum in your hair before u straighten, but none of this will prevent ur hair from being ruined. it will just soften the effect. and smooth out ur hair so it doesnt LOOK damaged. it will only protect your hair a little, after a while, your hair will be horrible.

keep the straightners for special occasions only, thats my advice. My hair is lightened to veryblonde can I use ceramic straighteners on it?
if you want to be bald rather than blonde!
yes you can i use Toni @Guys heat spray before straighten my hair it works great also use plenty of conditioner and finish of your hair with some frizz ease shine conditioner.
you will have to buy agood flat iron spray.i recommen a wella product.condition hair on ends and wrap atowel round head and leave on for as long as you can.
u can but use a proctective serum or mist on it before u straighten it
yes you can it will burn a little bit faster than normal
    yes you can

also condition your hair and use heat protector sprays
Hair Serum. Rub a squidge of it over your hands to warm it up and run lightly over your hair. it makes those little wispy bits more controllable.
use heat defence spray and then staighten it

Is it safe to keep straightening my hair everyday i use ceramic straighteners?

I have curly/frizzy hair and I straighten mine everyday, ~HOWEVER~ I really screwed up at first, because I didn't take care of it at all so don't make the same mistake I did, and you should everyday after showering put a leave-in conditioner in it, put a conditioning mask in it atleast once a week, (if you use mayonaise and eggs in your hair that's a good cheap alternative to having to buy one) and get regular trims. Use a heat-protectant spray as well. Also on days you aren't going anywhere and are just staying around the house don't straighten your hair give it a rest.Is it safe to keep straightening my hair everyday i use ceramic straighteners?
if you love your hair you give it a break for sometimes if not it might fall out.Is it safe to keep straightening my hair everyday i use ceramic straighteners?
being honest to ourselves, we know its damaging to use one. but then again we cant live without it. so the best thing is to know how to take care while doing it....protective sprays, hot oils once a week, its great to have shiny straight hair, but it doesnt end there. we need to take care of our hair too.......
I would say through experience no way. I personally have tried different products to accompany the straighteners and all end up damaging my hair, so try to back off your dependency if you have started using them no matter what the salon may try to sell you it just is not good for your hair, truely.
actually no it isn't because you could damage your hair, but you can curl your hair hair every other day.
Any styling is dmamging to hair so the more you do it the more damaging it is. Use a protectant and trim your hair regularly and it will look fine. But your hair will not look healthy unless you cut down a bit.
it's not good for your hair to straighten it every day. eventually your hair will dry out and begin to snap/break.
    no
if you use a heat protecting spray on your hair it is safe to keep on with it i have been doing it for 2 years every day i use the pink Lorelle shampoo and conditioner that is advertised on the TV and a heat protection spray and my hair is soft and shiny and in good condition an i am a hair dresser as well so i know what can damage your hair if you don't use a good conditioner and shampoo and a ceramic spray then it will dry out your hair and it can cause the hair to brake don't keep them in one place start from the top and in one motion glide down to the tip this way the heat is not kept in one place to Long
allways use a heat protection spray,GHD to one,Mark Hill does and TIGI i think does one.
no it will damage your hair a lot you should make sure you use something to protect your hair before you straighten it
I use one everyday as well. My hair dosn't do as well if I don't condition it. So I suggest using a conditioner and some kind of heat protectant (spray, lotion, or balm)
its not good for your hair to use straighteners daily, by doing this it starts to dry your hair out! i use straighteners daily and i notice the ends of my hair are so dry and after a while i get split ends. also i dye my hair and have noticed the colour fades quicker by using my straighteners. try to use a straightening balm to condition your hair whilst using them!
i use them everyday so long as u use a good conditioner and not keep the heat on too long my hair has never been in such good condition since i stopped blow drying
Hi yes as long as your hair is in its same condition as it was before you started using you hair straigteners then i suppose it will be safe for you. But in the long run no as the heat damages the hair and it becomes brittle and snaps of. My hair is brittle and dry but i have to use the straigteners to make my hair feel smooth and soft. But you will know when it is time to stop straigtening as you hair will go thinner and loose its texture. but aslong as you use a good shampoo and conditioner leave in conditioner and a heat protection spray then you hair should stay in good condition.
it might dry out your hair so no it is not safe
no it really isnt.. i aint bald or anything lol.. but i does make ur hair really dry and may fall out so if i was you i wud blow dry ur hair straight then the next day straighten then eveyrytime u wash ur hair blow dry straight
Try to have a break from using them every weekend, or at least one day a week, and try to do an intensive treatment on this day off.

You wont notice it at first, but it's surprising how quickly your hair'll dry out with regular straighening.

Get regular trims too to stop your hair from getting nasty spilts ends.

All that said, I'm surprised how shiny ceramic straigheners make your hair! I must admit, I've become addicted!
You can straighten it everyday as long as you use very good conditioners and as long as you take one day from the week and let it have a break.
it,s not safe but if you find you have to please keep your hair in great condition by using good products and heat protection spray
after time it will damage it, youll find that u HAVE to do it or ur hair looks rubish, best thing to do once a week is put loads of conditioner on ur hair leave it on for as long as u can, then rinse my hairdresser says this will help the pigments in ur hair to strenghen and your hair will look better, also try to protect it by using products befor drying and straightening, but they dont have to be expensive the cheap ones just do the same job.
If your hair is relatively healthy to begin with you should be ok. Just set it to the lowest heat setting necessary to str8n hair and use a heat protective product.
It's best not to as you are damaging your hair, I have used Boots permanent straightener (like a perm but in reverse)on my hair so that I don't have to use my straighteners as much. It's a long job and best done with a friend, it only costs 拢15 and is well worth the money. Also there are salon treatments that are pricey about 拢200.00 I think that straighten your hair with some sort of conditioner and do wonders for your hair. If you don't fancy either of those I would recommend Lee Stafford Heat protection spray and try to leave it a day or two in between straightening x

Can you recommend ceramic straighteners that are under $ 50 (canadien) and that lasts for more then 3 years?

Include price and place to buy, sorry there are no bloomingdale's, etc in Canada. Can you recommend ceramic straighteners that are under $ 50 (canadien) and that lasts for more then 3 years?
If you have a Walmart they have them there. my granddaughter got hers there for under 30.00 and uses it every day.Can you recommend ceramic straighteners that are under $ 50 (canadien) and that lasts for more then 3 years?
I understand that you don't want to spend big bucks. But go to your local hair dressers and they normally sell them for like $100-$200 it may seem like a lot for a straightener but it will last you a long time unlike the cheaper ones that work for a year or so. It will save you a lot of money in the long run.
chi straightener. it will last soooo long. and it straightens like you wouldnt believe. 30-75 bucks.

Has anyone tried Kodo Pro Air solid ceramic straighteners?

What are they like? How would you rate them out of 5 stars and would you recommend them to me? And if you haven't tried them, what other straighteners do you recommend that don't cost too much?Has anyone tried Kodo Pro Air solid ceramic straighteners?
They are good but they dont last long!! mine stopped working after a month i'd rate them 3/5. babyliss straightener is WAAAYYYYYYY better :].Chi flat iron is awesome too
  • bowel cleansing
  • Are those ceramic straighteners really worth it?

is this really worth 120 bucks,

they were trying to get me to buy one at the mal and saying that normal straighteners are metal and damage your hair but NOT THIS ONE!! and i dont kow if this is really worth all of that money, do the metal ones really make ur hair that much worse? Are those ceramic straighteners really worth it?
well, i actually found a ceramic one at the mall for 90. but i didnt buy it. my friend who has really curly hispanic hair got the example on her hair and it totally transformed. plus, she could actually curl her hair too with it. but the medal ones are reasonable, and they dont do much damage as long as you protect it.Are those ceramic straighteners really worth it?
if you're going to pay over $100 for a straightener, get the best -- the chi. otherwise, you can get GOOD ceramic straighteners for about $30. i have this ceramic, red plated conair one that can straighten hair when it's wet or dry --it cost me 30. i also have a white 2inch revlon one that works really well. you can get those $100 straighteners they have at the mall (coriolliss?) on ebay for about 30-40.
just use a gold plated one and it will work fine. u can get them anywhere there like 15 to 20$.just dont use it everyday u should not use any straightner everyday its bad for your hair.
    ya those do workk.
yes they do less damage than regular straighteners and they leave your hair smoother/less frizzy
not always. i just use hair protection spray that keeps my hair from burning and its all good=)
Okay, you can get a good ceramic hair straightener without paying that much trust me, go to any beauty supply store and take a look, ceramic ones are among the best to get for best results, but don't get taken at the mall by paying $120.
yeah, i use a t3 straightener on my hair, it always looks shiny and healthy. compared to my old straightener it also doesnt take as long (i have long, thick curly hair). if you straighten your hair often it is defintely worth the price!
i got my ceramic straightener for $15

it works, leaves my hair smooth and silky
Gold plates flat irons mean nothing. Yes, you do want ceramic and Yes it is worth it. Think of spending $150 on a ceramic flat iron. It is like an investment. It will last you life time and will save your hair from damage (unlike the non ceramic. None cermamic is very heat constricted and burns the hair easily). I love the Paul Mitchell flat iron. And it has a warranty that covers ANYTHING!!! They dont replace the flat iron, they send you a whole new one. Always make sure you use a heat protection serum or spray when using a flat iron. Please do you hair a favor and spend the money. You will be very pleased.

Is it true that ceramic straighteners dont damage your hair?

and is remington wet2straight a good straightener? i would just use it on dry hair, or slightly dampIs it true that ceramic straighteners dont damage your hair?
yes I ahve it and it works great for a cheap straightener

no, any kind of straightener, no matter how good will damage your hair to some extent. think of as frying your hair. use straighteners in moderation, only when you have a poofy bad hair day. think about it, if you put the hot plate on your arm, How fricken badly would it burn/hurt? imagine what its doing to your hair. Is it true that ceramic straighteners dont damage your hair?
ceramic straighteners do damage hair..but not as much. DO NOT USE WET2STRAIGHT. that straightener FRIES and DRIES your hair out, and dont even straighten your hair when its damp.. or your ends might end up looking like hay.i suggest you get an affordable jilbere de paris straightener. the price range starts from about the late 30$ and ends at about 70 dollars. they work REALLY good and you can purchase them from sally beauty supply.
They DO damage your hair still, but not AS MUCH as regular straightners. Especially if you use it often, go for ceramic.

    Hope This Helped!

Any good but cheap ceramic straighteners?

I am looking for a ceramic flat iron that's no more than $40, but it's still good. Any suggestions?Any good but cheap ceramic straighteners?
I have a Remington Pro-fessional, ceramic, titanium, 1 inch straightner and I couldn't love it any more! You can get it at walmart for $38 (you can do curls with it too) :)

Are SCP solid ceramic straighteners same or better than GHD ?

    Need advice here.

Have been growing my hair for 2.5 years. My hair is thick, dry with a curl when wet and I have a chin length bob. Straighteners flatten and smooth and straighten my hair making it look fab.

My GHD mark 3's went wonky in May. The red power light would come on when switched on, then go off, the unit did not appear as hot as it should and I was worried it would go 'puut' on me, so bought Kodo ones for like 拢16.99 on ebay. THe plan was to wait 2 weeks or so, then send the GHDs back for repair, keeping the Kodos as a back up. I never got around to this, and the ceramic coating of the Kodos has now started to come off.

Watching auctions on ebay for GHD mark iv and wanting to buy and then have mark 3's fixed as back up but they are expensive ! SCP have a mark 5.3 which appears better than GHD but fraction of the price. Scared to waste yet more money on crappy straighteners can anyone tell me if SCP are worth it please !Are SCP solid ceramic straighteners same or better than GHD ?
i use scp straighteners there the best smooth and silky way better than ghds to hot burn and dry out hair, buy scps ionic genius!

peaceAre SCP solid ceramic straighteners same or better than GHD ?
my advise is stick with what you've got get them ghd's fixed

What are some top drugstore ceramic straighteners?

I dont want to blow a whole paycheck off on a straightener but was looking for some really good drugstore ceramic straighteners under say $30. Thanks! What are some top drugstore ceramic straighteners?
You can try Golden Hot or Conair, Conair ahs a good straightner. Also try a beauty supply store like Sally's. If you want a really good starightner then try Chi products, they also have amzing shampoos, conditoners, etcWhat are some top drugstore ceramic straighteners?
Well Conairs are everywhere, not just at drugstores, and they're really cheap but work really super good.

    Hope that helps! Merry Christmas!
umm there isnt any great workign ones at drugstores go to a salon they have chi's omg i love mine its pink but way over your limit its 120 so try conair i guess
    well it's like 35-40 but it's called a remingtonwet2straight!

Is it safe to use ceramic straighteners on my 9 yr old daughters hair?

My daughter has wild bushy wavy hair that she hates and always has tied up. I straightened her hair for her birthday party and she loved it so much she wants to keep it straight. I told not all the time as I am not sure this can damage her hair with her being so young.

I straighten mine all the time and my hair stays shiny and healthy, but not sure about her's.

Can anyone advise how safe/dangerous this is for her hair??

Many thanksIs it safe to use ceramic straighteners on my 9 yr old daughters hair?
You can use hairstraightners on her hair, I'd recommend a relaxing shampoo and conditoner first such as L'anza Strait Line to relax the hair by up to 30% then I'd use the L'anza heat protector to keep it from damaging the hair, then pop some serum on it for silky locks all day long!Is it safe to use ceramic straighteners on my 9 yr old daughters hair?
can veronica A tell us why her aunt took her little niece to the doctor to find out how often you can straighten an 8 year olds hair. does the doctor work 2 part time jobs 1 as a doctor and the other as a hairdresser. or can you get a cut and blow dry while you pick up your prescription at the local practise.
well my aunt straightens my little cousins hair once a week and shes 8 , the doctor told her just dont do it every day so it should be okay
I wouldn't do it all the time, maybe once a week, but making sure she brushes it often before washing to get all the oils flowing through to the ends and make sure she has good conditioner. Maybe your daughter doesn't need to grow up so quickly and worry about such things just yet?
Well, ceramic straighteners work good and heat evenly and keep your hair shiny. I guess it would be ok, just a long as you don't straighten her hair like every day. It may also help if u by shampoos and conditioners for your daughters type of hair. It may make it more manageable. It's just a thought though.
it is ok, but you should be verycareful because they can get hot
take your daughter to a pro. maybe someone you have gone to for years, they will give you advice. I have found that John Freida products work well, All you have to do is put it in your hair and blow dry straight, which you have to do anyway. Try the straightening shampoos and conditioners.

People with straight hair want curls, curls want straight.Hopefully she will eventually learn to like her own hair without all the processing.

    Good Luck.
i straighten my 7 year old daughters hair but onlt occasionally.

it will damage her young hair if done all the time.

but some of that spray that u put on beofre straightening to protect the hair.
no ceramic hair straighteners dont hurt your hair.
As long as you use a heat protector product on her hair before you straighten, it should protect the hair fine. As long as you're not holding the irons' on for too long, there will be no long term damage.

If she's anything like my neice, she'll get bored of going through it after a while, and then want to stay natural!

  • How do you know when you need a new set of ceramic straighteners?

I have some hairtools ceramic straighteners that are about 4 years old. Recently I have been noticing that hair products seem to build up on the plates, so that they need cleaning after every time you use them.

They didn't used to do this, and it's quite annoying - has anyone else experienced it? Do I just need to fork out for some new straighteners? How do you know when you need a new set of ceramic straighteners?
Yup when it starts caking up like that it means the ceramic platting is wearing down... its not only annoying but can be bad for your hair... I love hot tools hair straightners they arent that expensive and work great!!!How do you know when you need a new set of ceramic straighteners?
errmmm yerrrrrr 4 yrs is a lot get ghd trust me der gd

    hello
Yes definately, you are well overdue for new straighteners.
I'd say go for it and buy some new ones. I know they're pricey, but I would suggest ghd's or some other more up-market straighteners, not 拢20 ones you can get in Argos or something, because they won't last 4 years. I must say, well done for making your ones last so long - wish mine did!
you can see on the ceramic plates that it starts to wear off. this is when you usally need a mew pair of ceramic straightners. its wear the ceramic has come off its plate and they will not give you that smooth final finish like they used to

Is it possible to remove brown stains from ceramic straighteners?

It must be the residue from the heat protection spray and perhaps mousse, i just can't get it off from either of the plates. And i think it's affecting the results, my hair just flairs out and it takes a higher heat setting to get the hair properly straight. Or i could be imagining things, but i would still like to get those stains off.

I've tried rubbing them with makeup removal pads, alcohol and a warm cloth and nothing's come off!

Thanks in advance for any advice! Is it possible to remove brown stains from ceramic straighteners?
You need to heat the iron then unplug it ...Then use Isopropal on a thick cloth preferably an old towel. Is it possible to remove brown stains from ceramic straighteners?
You'e supposed to use warm water or alcohol rubbing,

it's always worked for me, funny it hasnt for you.

try heating your straightner first, then turning it off and cleaning it so that the residue isnt so stuck on,

    if not, im not sure.

go to the retailer and ask, although, mine told me to do what i just said.
okk that other dude rite there is a perv,,,

and i dont thinnk u can, cause its like the ceremic is burnt

try gettin the remington wet to straight hair straightener and using it cuz i have that and so far it doesnt have the brown parts on it(: adnit works ahmazingly

but i wouldnt use it on wet hair:? it mite burn it

What's the difference between ceramic straighteners and normal metal plated straighteners?

I have normal plain metal plates on my straighteners, and wondered if it is worth spending money on new ceramic plates when my old straighteners are working fine??What's the difference between ceramic straighteners and normal metal plated straighteners?
Damage to ur hair.. ceramic irons cause less damage :DWhat's the difference between ceramic straighteners and normal metal plated straighteners?
    well,

if you use a normal straightener every day, you are more likely to burn your hair and get split ends. but thats if you use it every day. ceramic i think has this special coating on top of normal metal plates. you wont burn your hair as easily with ceramic.

    so it depends on you.

if you're just focusing on getting it straight,i wouldnt buy a new one. 'specially if you get a regular trim like once a month or something.

but if youre really focused on your split ends, and DONT have a regular trim, get a new one.

but if you do get reg. trims and are still focused on split ends, dont get a new one. you already spend money on the cuts, so it isnt worth spending even more on a new straightener.

If they are working good, don't spend money on a new one.

I think ceramic means that it works better.

    Actually,I'm not sure.

My best advice would be to just stick with the straightener that you have now if it works good enough. :]
A ceramic flat iron is not only better for your hair but it works better.
the ceramic ones are better for your hair:)
well cermic ones work better, and they are better for your hair, but if you like your one stick to it.

What's the difference between CHI and expensive ceramic straighteners and cheaper ceramic straighteners?

I know I know, the suuuuper cheap 'ceramic' straighteners are not fully ceramic, they just have a ceramic coating.

But what about the ceramic straighteners that are like 70$ ?

What makes the straighteners that are 100-200$ so much better? I need a new straightener, and I just want to know if the way more expensive ones are just a lot less damaging, or if there is virtually no differenceWhat's the difference between CHI and expensive ceramic straighteners and cheaper ceramic straighteners?
I have a chi and believe me there MUCH more better then the cheap $20 ones you get at target. They get very hot so its easier and faster to straighten your hair and make your hair straighter then the cheap ones would. The cheap ones don't even make your hair straight. So i suggest getting a chi I have one and love it love it love it!

鈾?hope i helpedWhat's the difference between CHI and expensive ceramic straighteners and cheaper ceramic straighteners?
Well, I use Gold and Hot which cost about 20 bucks! They work very well. The only difference I've heard about is that the really expensive ones don't damage your hair as much.
    www.folica.com

Chis arent even very good, my friends have to buy them every couple of months because they break.

    Ceramic straighteners?

I'm thinking of buying one, but I don't want to spend over 150$.

Any suggestions? Please explain why you think the straightener is good.Ceramic straighteners?
They work great but make sure your hair is completely dry or you will singe it..... use a straightening balm with it and you will have amazing results. straight silky shiny hair...GLCeramic straighteners?
The Conair infinite is amazing. I know you're like oh conair thats cheap but it's really nice. I've had mine for a year and it still works perfect. It will give you a nice straigten and shine without overdrying your hair. Plus it was like $60
You can definately find a ceramic straightener at a beauty supply store. i got mine from sallys beauty supply %26amp; it was like not even $50.
Solia! If you buy this flat iron from folica.com it's only $88 + tax, shipping is free, and it comes with a free cooling mat.

    Check it out: http://www.folica.com/Solia_Tourmalin_d1/a>

I have one and love it! My mom also fell in love %26amp; was happy I convinced her to buy it. Definitely works for my thick, curly hair. Read the reviews. Some people say it's as good as a Sedu!

If you have curly, wavy, or thick hair I wouldn't recommend Conair because their straighteners will snag your hair.

EDIT: Oh yea, if you have thin hair that is kind of already straight (you just want to put in final touch) then it would okay to buy a straightener from Conair, Bed Head, etc.

What is a good cheap straightener?

I have wavy hair, and I love it straight, but my straightener sucks: http://images.google.com/imgres?imgurl=h/a>

I bought a straightener from Walmart called ther aramis I think... and it works really good on my super curly african american hair.. hope this helpsWhat is a good cheap straightener?
Remington's are amazing. I use to have the cheapest ones u cud buy (about 拢20) and they were ace! my hair is also wavy/curly and not easy to straighten but they were so good even tho they're cheap! I recently had to replace them because the ceramic wore off. I now have the remington sleek and curl (only 拢15 from amazon brand new! bargain off the retail prce!) which are also amazing! They work so well and you can adjust the temperature which you can't do on the cheaper version. I recommend all remingtons - they are as good as my sisters GHDs! xxx
My friend used a wet to straight straightener %26amp; her hair fell out. %26amp; when I say fell out I mean it was like still on the iron when she pulled it away!

I use a conair straightener. It's bright red %26amp; I got it at Walmart for like $25 or $30. Try straightening it in sections %26amp; using a hair straightener protectant like milkshake or vroom products! They ROCK * haha
i have one thats jilbere de paris,

you can get it at sally beauty,

its not great, and its not bad, so i guess thats pretty good

    hope i helped(:
Remingtons are awesome, but they ware fats, so i have to keep buying new ones, but i have found revlons are great too!

    Cheap Straightener??

I have thick wavy hair and am looking for a semi-professional straightener with great results. I don't want to spend more than $50 if possible. I have a cheap one now that makes my hair frizzy and damaged. It also doesn't stay straight all day. I would like the opposite...smooth silky hair that's healthy.

    Thanks.Cheap Straightener??
I always recommend getting a CHI iron because they have a lifetime warranty and they keep even the most stubborn hair straight. But the Hot Tools iron is really great too, and it's only $49. The best place to buy it is at a JcPenney salon because you can get it for like $20 off the retail price when it's on sale.Cheap Straightener??
a CHI is great, but it's about $180
    smooth,silky hair hmmmm my hair is like that after i straighten it and i use a ';chi';

price is more that u want to spend but its worth it

    price $99.99

look on ebay they might have some for cheap
conair has some good ones that are $20 to $30

    What's a good, cheap Straightener?

what's a cheap straightener that's still good. I have thick wavy hair and i need a straightener. i don't need a high end one because i usually wear my hair wavy. i used to have a really good one that was only like $30 but it broke and i cant find it anywhere. please answer! (=What's a good, cheap Straightener?
I paid about $30 for my straightener and it is a Revlon Ceramic. It is white and has a thick end. I have had this thing for 3 years and it is still going strong. I picked it up at the drug store. Inexpensive, and definitely gets the job done! What's a good, cheap Straightener?
my straightener is over 200 dallors. If you want a cheap one go to a convenience store (wal-mart, cvs, ect.) and look for a straightener between 20 an d 35 dallors. don't go under 20. they are usley cheaply made and break easyley ( my old straightener was like 15 dallors. it was conaire wet to style. it brook really quick and I had to turn it up on the highest seting!) I don't really know any good cheap ones. But is you are will to speand over 100 bucks a Chi, Paul Mithchel, and (the one i have) a Sedu.
    dont buy cheap ones...

youll eventually end up spending 80 dollars on hair straghteners...

    its what happpened to mee.

i have like 5 and then i finally relized that and i bought a ginalli one i saw it at a recent fair and they are $189 but they are 100% cermaic.

they dont burn your hair or fry it.

its good for you hair. and it also has a life time warenty.
usually very cheap ones tend to damage ur hair then ones that you spend a little more on.... an in between one that's good is Conair's Infiniti Nano Silver Steam straightener that doesn't damage ur hair as much... it's about 99 bucks at Target

    plz answer mine:

no good straitner is cheap, i would recomend a chi or a paul mitchell,

the cheap ones can ruin your hair.

    Ive learned from experience
I don't think they've inented a good, cheap straightener yet.

    They should though.

There are a ton of cheap hair straighteners on Amazon. This is the cheapest one I saw but I didn't look that hard, they probably have something even cheaper.

    http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000N2O/a>
Walgreens, Kmart and Walmart they usually range between $20-30, but the cheapest I've seen was $15.77 at walmart: Conair Instant Heat 3/4'; Ultra Slim Straightener with Turbo Heat
if you are going to buy a straightener, you don't want to buy a cheap one. cheap ones won't keep your hair straight for long, and can break easily. cheap straighteners probably won't straighten thick hair very well if you have thick hair. try looking for a good brand like CHI on amazon or ebay. you can probably find one for a decent price, and it will work good

you have to try to find a flat iron that has a cord that swivels at the base. usually at target they have the products on display so you can touch and feel the product. check the cord to see that it swivels where it connects the cord to the iron itself.
i really dont think its possible to get a straightener that is one inch in width that can easily curl your hair under 30$. but here is one that i use and i curl it in about 20 minutes and it heats up is about 8 seconds.
i got mine from walmart for 15 bucks its a andis and its a skinny one those work best and i went to beauty school and everyone always wanted to use mine cause it was better than their paul mitchells and their 100 dollar flat irons and i still see the one i got there
well i striaghten my hair every morning with the same striaghtner for the last year, i got it for like 20 bucks at marshals, and it works great, iv seen curling irons there too (and if there straightner works fine im sure the curling iron will too) and they have great sprays too, (to really hold your hair use ';big sexy hair'; awkward name, i know but its in a red boddle, try it!)

if you dont have a marshals around you go to the drug store and by one for 30 bucks =]
i suggest using a curling iron instead of straightning iron
Well first of all, you don't CURL your hair with a flat iron, its not gonna do the job well lol...

Try buying a curling iron. But i know what your talking about though, i'm kinda cheep myself lol... i buy the $20 flat iron and curling iron (hahaha)... but who cares, as long as it does he job.

but to answer your question, i think that any cord is going to tangle. wheather its from a cheep iron or expensive one.

One tip i would give you is that before you start curling or straightning your hair, use the right device. If its curly hair you want then use a curling iron, if you want straight hair then use a flat iron. Before you start curling or straightening your hair, spray a little hair oil/hair spray in it, then blow it out with a blow dry and brush (to get that soft shinny look), then use which ever iron u are planning to use. Spray hair oil in your hair for a finishing look, and you'll be good to go.

If your black and have nappy hair like me, then girl just get a perm and use some good ol' weave or get a wash N set lol

How do you straighten your hair with a cheap straightener/flat iron?

I mean like really good. I know it's possible because this girl has the same straightener and hers looks really good. I think I'm doing something wrong. My straightener is Conair Professional Instant Heat Straightener. I bought it at Wal-Mart for $15.How do you straighten your hair with a cheap straightener/flat iron?
work in sections. divide you hair into sections, clip them, and straighten one at a time.

EDIT: hmmm then try misting hairspray on your hair. use a shampoo and conditioner for straightening hair. theres alot of products (serums, creams, etc.) that help with straightening. also, dont straighten your hair when it is humid out, humidity frizzes hair and makes it wavy. How do you straighten your hair with a cheap straightener/flat iron?
What i usually do is a split my hair up into sections,

first i split my hair down the middle and put one side in a pigtail the the other side i tie half up and straighten the loose part. Then split the tied up part in half and straighten.

Then do the same with the other side.

Also when u straighten your hair use a wide tooth comb. It really helps. Just follow the iron with the comb. It will keep you from burning you neck.
It really depends on your hair but with me i only straighten the ends. It means i concentrate more on them.
    do it in small sections

and repeat til it gets all straight
Use one of the following products:

    -Tresemme Heat Protect Spray

    - John Frieda Straight Answer Spray

BUT before you use those try a striaghtening shampoo/conditioner pair in the shower like:

    -Garnier Fructis Sleek and shine

    -John Frieda Straight Answer

    -Tresemme Smooth and Silky

    - Sunsilk Straighten Out

And most importantly blow dry your hair with a paddle brush with a good technique and your hair will probably not need much straightening at all, unless its naturally very curly/wavy.

But bottom line is you should buy a better straightener in the long run if you use it often or your hair will suffer. I don't mean you have to pay $100+ but you can get a nice quality one under 50.

Where can I buy a good, cheap, straightener that won't damage my hair?

I've had a vidal sassoon 2'; ceramic straightener for about 2 years now and it's high time I get a new one. I don't really want to spend more than $40 but I am willing to save up for one as long as it doesn't damage my hair. I used to have extremely damaged hair and I finally grew it all out and I'm looking to keep my hair healthy. So really, I need three things answered:

    1) is it worth it going for a cheaper straightener if I want to keep my hair healthy?

    2) if it's worth saving the money, where can I get a good, cheap straightener?

    3) if it's not worth saving money and damaging my hair, where can I buy a good straightener (max $100)?

I have really thick wavy barely curly hair and i have that straightner and it works REALLY good if you put it on the 25-30(red) settings for your DRY hair. do not use it on wet hair it will make it super poofy. The settings i use are for wet hair but my hair wont straighten on the settings for dry hair so i got to crank up the heat! I have the slim plates one...

I have the Remington Wet2Straigth, It's amazing. I use It when my hair Is dry though. I got It 2 years ago and It still works perfectly. I'd really suggest It, esp because my hair Is curley.
DO NOT GET STRAIGHTENERS THAT SAY ';wet To Straight'; .... or that says that they can straighten wet hair.

    It's Bull. They Dont Work.

You can get some at Wal*Mart For $60-$120 And they work awesome!
Ohh yea It's great actually I have it...and my hair is so curly its crazy how good it works lol It's about $30 I got mine at wal* mart=]=] You can also use it when your hair is dry too=]
Many girls say the Chi straightener is the only one that doesn't fry their hair... I used a cheap straightener almost daily for only 2 months and my hair turned into crabgrass! Now I don't even use heat at all and it is at its shiniest. No matter what straightener you end up getting just don't use it everyday =)
CVS, Walmart, Walgreens, Kmart. Those are alot of stores that have the cheapest straighteners. Or if you go to a salon they normally have good budget straighteners. I got my hair straightener from Ulta the makeup store and it works AMAZING! My straightener is called the ';iSmooth'; and it works really good. I also know that my friend has the color changing BedHead straightener that cost her about $60.00 and it works really good. And after every use each straightener helps keep your hair stay straightened. DON'T BUY A ';CHI'; STRAIGHTENER!!! At least 5 of my cousins wasted their money on expensive ';CHI'; straighteners that BROKE and didn't work good. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY ON A ';CHI.'; And/or with your straightener you can look for hair products that help tame frizz and just like special shampoos, they keep your hair straight without using the straightener. Hope I helped!
i hav the same type of hair, and i got a pretty cheap flatiron by revlon. it works perfectly. i think i actualy got it at kmart. and i suggest the ones with skinny plates, not thick, cuz u can get closer to ur roots.
Wet2Straight didn't work for me, but my hair is super curly . I have a friend with thick wavy hair and it works good on her . Just don't use it while your hair is wet (:
Umm i went to walmart for mine.I got that one thats says it can blowdry/straighten ur hair,i got it 4 about 50bux or so.Umm yeahh it works 4 me,so it mite work 4 u.

    Good luck=)

CHI straightener. you can buy this at Sally's Beauty Supply.

It's about $50 and it's a really good straightener. It reduces fly aways and conditions hair and makes hair shiny and smooth(:

they also have really cute colors and changeable skins.

Best cheap straightener for really curly hair?

I have really thick curly hair. When curly about 2 or 3 inches past my shoulder but when straight about 5 or 6 past, so pretty long. I had a CHI and it didn't work for my hair at all... I had a remington wet to straight (I only used it when my hair was dry) the really wide one though not the narrow one.. and it did pretty well. Is there a good straightener that wont take my paycheck to get that will work for really thick and curly hair? bc i dont want it to look fake straightened... But help needed!!!! Thanks :]Best cheap straightener for really curly hair?
I have really thick and curly hair and I use the Remington Wet to Straight, the wide one. Why don't you like it? It's like really cheap and works really well.Best cheap straightener for really curly hair?
I found the remington wet to straight the best one for the money i have been using it for 3 yrs or so i love it even more then my expensive one it gets the job done the fastest!! I find the other cheap ones to be just that cheap!

    A good/cheap straightener?

OK, I'm looking for a straightener, and my hair super curly/thick/unmanageable, so i need a straightener that gets HOT! and a temperature control button, maybe? And as cheap as possible please (: Thanks so much!! xoxoA good/cheap straightener?

I also have thick hair and the temperature control on here works great!

It's around $20 so not too pricey! I think this one would really work for you!

    Hope I helped! :)A good/cheap straightener?
anything under 20 dollars is CRAPPPPPP !

    seriously .

ive had alot of straighteners . my hairs curly but i straighten it every day

Currently i have the remington wet2straight

my sister has it also . out of the straighteners we have both had it is the BESTTT we have EVER seen next to salon ones .

i have one that is slightly smaller (as far as the width of it)

than hers but they work exactly the same .

i got the smaller one because they were out of the regular ones .

but they really have no difference ,

    its also cheaper .

mine was 20 something and hers was 30 something .

i recomend straighteners that work with wet and dry hair because

    A) you may need to straighten your hair when its wet

    and

    B) they get much much much hotter and its easier with curly hair .

    (mine gets REALLY hot)

and im sure youve been told a million times but straightening your hair (espaecially when you do it daily like me) is really bad for your hair .

its like sticking your hair in a frying pan .

i also recommend buying a cheap smoothing serum (from a salon or just walmart it doesnt matter) .

i used to not use one but pieces of my hair broke off and i got split ends all the way up to my roots .

you rub the serum through your hair starting about below your ears and all the way to your ends and it prevents SOME hair damage .

    good luckk

    i hope i helped !!

    :D
usually any ceramic straightener, [gold plates are best] works good.

you can get them at wal-mart starting at 15 dollars.

or you can go to marshall's where they have them a bit more expensive, but works equally as good.

and lastly if you have an ULTA store nearby, and happen to catch them on sale, you'll get the best for around 30-50 dollars.
Conair Ceramic Technology works best. My sister uses it.http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.d/a>

    $35 but definitely worth it!
i dont have cur;y hair but my hair is very thick and unmanagable also but i use wet2straight i got it at walmart for $30 its not to cheap but its really worth it it works really good

    Best Cheap Straightener at walmart??
You will never find a good straighter under $30. I can promise you that. Maybe try ebay?......Best Cheap Straightener at walmart??
A Remington Wet to Straight, it is a good straightener its like $30

They may be sold out cuz everyone has one, at least where i live.......

Its a really good straightener, it works better on my Hair than a Chi straightener does, it has a heat dial that goes from like 1 - 30, its a really amazing straightener, *****ALSO***** Remington sells a really good hair dryer(just so you know) my mom is a beautition and it works better than anything she owns, its also at walmart it like under 15 bucks
om goodness, I'm a hairdresser with access to the most expensive equipment there is. but i use and prefer to use the straighter i bought at my local walmart, it actually works better then any expensive one that ive bought ..its called Remington wet 2 straight! WORKS AMAZINGLY, tho i think its like 32 bucks or something like that... best money spent and i use mine on my clients as well.
i have the Remington Wet2Straight one and it works well on my naturally curly frizzzy hair. Just make sure you put it on highest heat and put some hair product or lotion and youll get beautiful results =)

snother good one is Conair =)
ur not gonna find a great straightner 4 under 30$

    Chi vs. regular/cheap straightener.?

I have a regular cheap straightener that you can get at walmart.

For christmas i'm getting a Chi.

Would you prefer a Chi verses an off brand cheap straightener?Chi vs. regular/cheap straightener.?
well in that case, the Chi is better, but in the market of expensive hair irons, i think there are better irons out there than the chi.

Chi's bigger competitiors, FHI, Solia, and Sedu all make beautiful irons, a few of them being cheaper than the Chi, while offering better performance. If your willing to dish out buttloads of money on protectant sprays and moisturizers CHI branded, your hair should be fine and silky, but if your like most people and just use the iron on plain hair, the Chi is still going to fry your hair.

Try checking out a solia- they'll run you about 80 dollars, but they're so much better than chi- and cheaperChi vs. regular/cheap straightener.?
It really depends on your hair type. If your hair is more on the thin/wavy side, you should be fine with a drugstore brand straightener.

However, for thicker wavy/curly hair, DEFINITELY invest in a Chi. The difference is incredible; not only does it heat up faster and get hotter, but it will cut your straightening time in half. You will also enjoy longer-lasting results and your hair will have more of a ';stick straight'; look.

I have very curly hair and I have owned both a Conair straightener from Target and a $120 Sedu straightener, which is one of Chi's biggest rivals. I cannot even imagine going back to a drugstore brand straightener anymore. Yes, the Chi is more expensive, but it's definitely a good investment in the end. I've seen how well it worked on both my curly-haired friends and myself.

Sorry if I sound like a walking advertisement for expensive straighteners... just throwing out my 2 cents :)
My stylist recommended a Chi when i asked witch straighteners worked the best..I ended up getting a Pro-Touch witch costed a little less but it works AMAZINGLY. So I guess it just depends on if you r getting it for yourself or if its a gift to you from someone else.. =D
Chi's are so so so so so so much better!

They heat up faster, work better, last longer meaning

hair wise, it stays perfect longer and better warranty.

Love love love Chi Products %26lt;3 =]
I love my conair hair straighter

I also have Hot Tools hair straighter that last me 3 years and still working.
yea it gets hotter and works alot better and faster

  • Cheap straightener???????????

do u think a cheap (like $20-25) straightener is just as good as one that is like almost $50? i don't realy want to spend all that money on an expensive one, but i want it to workCheap straightener???????????
just as long as you get one with ceramic plates. i use conair and it works very well. go to conair.com and order one off line, or just go to a grocery store or a drug store and they usually have pretty cheap straighteners :)Cheap straightener???????????
Cheaper straighteners do not contain real ceramic plates.. in the long run , your hair will be damaged.

With more expensive irons, you are getting a better quality and more well made item. I used to have a old Conair iron supposedly ceramic and tourmaline but it left my hair so dry it looked like grass.. now I have a Sedu which has made my hair so much better and silky.

I'd consider getting a Sedu or Ozon.. or check out folica.com. There are a lot of customer reviews there.
I have a thin, black straightener that I got from Wal Mart 3 years ago for cheap! It has ceramic-coated plates and heats up in 60 seconds. Its the Andis 1 1/2 inch ceramic flat iron, and you can get it for like $16 on walmart.com. It works better than the similarly priced ones my friends have, it isn't light and plastic-y and cheap feeling, either. I highly recommend it.
nope do NOT buy a cheap straightener its a complete waste of money

i had the conair one which i bought for 25 and it didnt work at all even though my hair is pretty easy to straighten

after a month i got the normal $130 straightener and it works amazing and damages hair less than the cheap one

    :)
It depends. A lot of times you will find things online for much cheaper than in a mall and it is the same quality. You want to make sure it is brand name merchandise. You also want to be careful who you buy from in case you need to return it or ask questions later. Read their return policy before buying.

The website below has a number of good straighteners for pretty good prices and they are the same models you would find in a mall.

Even cheaper with the coupon code.
ive had cheap straightners. the first one died out on me but i dont blame it. i had had it for a yr and i have a looot of hair. i bought another cheap straightner and its really good. the only reason it takes long is my hair.....its the same thing.. at TJ-MAXX or MARSHALLS they have good/cheap straightners :)
Well I use the Croc everyday and it's fabulous!! But we just bought a mini conair for traveling and that works very well also. It's tiny so it takes longer but it works just as good as the croc! It was only $22
they WILL NOT BE THE SAME QUALITY!!!

you are paying more for better quality, trust me!

but I know you can find semi cheap and good ones at ulta.

do not go to target though!!!

ulta carries good brands so you can probabaly trust their cheaper ones more than walmarts.
Okay, i know this sounds weird, but I am 11 1/2 and i have a cheap but omg it works so good! It's a yelloe and black CONAIR straightner.

It ranges about Hmmm... I ot mine I think on sale for $15 so It's worth it

    =) I hope it helps!!
I assume you're talking about a flat iron. You can get an inexpensive one, but the key to a good one is to make sure it has a ceramic base and not a metal base. Metal will do a lot more damage to your hair.
I got a really good straightener for about $25 that I love, it's a Revlon ceramic iron that's bright purple. I got it from Meijer (It's the Walmart of the Midwest) and I love it.
how u doin girl?? u can get a cheap straightener at the walmart

So, I have a budget of $35, but I can probably go to $45, if it's worth it. My dad's giving me my weekly $60 bucks allowance, and I need a new flat iron. He'll think if I go over 40, it's ridiculous and he won't buy it. I've looked online and have seen lots of cute straighteners but I'm not sure if they'll work...any suggestions? This is for hair that is pretty easy to straighen.

If your hair is thick and bulky you'll need a bigger one/ more expensive.

Is there a cheaper straightener that works just as good as amika?

ive seen how brillant amka hair products are but its like very expensive so i need somethin cheaper but with the same quality as amika. Is there a cheaper straightener that works just as good as amika?
wet to dry straighteners dry out your hair. i had the remington one and hated it, got the chi wet to dry one for $160, still sucks. regular chi straighteners are about $100 and, and i love mine. if you want something a little cheaper, hot tools works really well, also. they range from $30 and up.Is there a cheaper straightener that works just as good as amika?
I use silverbullet, you can get a good quality older version for under $150, but it'll be cheaper in the long run as you don't need as many products to protect the hair as its coating is less damaging on the hair and it is a good quality product meaning it'll last many years
I have a red n black conair one it works the same.

  • Excellent, cheap straightener?

What brand sells cheap straighteners, that works REALLY well !? (FLAT IRON! NOT rounded ceramic plates)

Plus, any tips to make hair straighter, or tips while I'm using a straightener?Excellent, cheap straightener?
I got a cheap straightner, at a Sally's beauty supply store..I dont know if you have any in your area. But if you dont im sure you have a beauty supply store. It works just like a Chi but much cheaper.I have curly/wavy hair.I use the John Frieda Frizz-Ease Shampoo and Conditioner, and the Finishing cream..I use that on the hair then straighten it..It works very good!!!!Excellent, cheap straightener?
to make your hair straighter add a small amount of hair serum to wet hair and blow dry it with a round brush before your straightner it or section your hair straighten small pieces at a time and apply a straigtning spray before.
go to a hair salon and ask for a hir product so it doesnt kill your tips then go to target and get a 30 dollar straightener !!
do yourself a favour and don't buy a straightner... hair that isn't meant to be straight looks dry and brittle when it gets straightened. try this:

when you get out of the shower, dry your enough so that it is damp.. then throw some mouse in it, brush it straight and then shake it all over the place, and then organize it with your fingers.. looks good

What is the best and cheapest straightener?

and where can I get it?What is the best and cheapest straightener?
The best and cheapest hair straightener I think is the Solutions by Vidal Sassoon . It around $ 30.00 and it works! it's small and stylish and it doesn't look like you go it for $ 30.00. If your in Canada Shopper Drug mart , or outside of Canada any drug store, or department store.

Ps. it works on any hair type. What is the best and cheapest straightener?
well, if you want a good straightener, get it at dutchcaptain.com. there are mandy different straightenersthere, and cheaper than normal price.
its like 30 ish dollars, but it works amazing! and i have curly think hair so thats saying something. its remington brand pink gemstone, its pink and the outside is brown. u can get it at tarket!

    Really good cheap straightener..?

I have a red CHI, but i hate it. It pulls my hair and doesnt get it as straight as i would like. I dont want to spend a ridiculous amount on a straightener, and tips? i was thinking less than $20?Really good cheap straightener..?
if you have a ulta near you go there, they have salon grade straighteners on clearance a lot of times for cheep. or just individual. I got one for like 25 there one time and I have had it for 3 years and its perfect. no bent plates. if not go to places that sell salon equipment, and go to clearance. I hate ones from walgreens/ cvs/rightaid, cause the plates are always bent and never line up.

they are having a promo code thing on some things online righ tnow if you don't mind ordering 3.50 off anything 10 or more.

Whats the best cheap straightener??and heat protectant for my Hair?

You can try to look for got2b Crazy Sleek Lotion, Tresemme Heat Tamer Spray, and V05 Heat Spray.. you should find them all at Walmart :)

As for the best cheap straightener.. look for something that has tourmaline, titanium, and ceramic plates.. drugstore brand iron are likely to damage your hair more in the longrun and will make your hair frizzy after the rain.
