Chi vs. regular/cheap straightener.?

I have a regular cheap straightener that you can get at walmart.

For christmas i'm getting a Chi.

Would you prefer a Chi verses an off brand cheap straightener?Chi vs. regular/cheap straightener.?
well in that case, the Chi is better, but in the market of expensive hair irons, i think there are better irons out there than the chi.

Chi's bigger competitiors, FHI, Solia, and Sedu all make beautiful irons, a few of them being cheaper than the Chi, while offering better performance. If your willing to dish out buttloads of money on protectant sprays and moisturizers CHI branded, your hair should be fine and silky, but if your like most people and just use the iron on plain hair, the Chi is still going to fry your hair.

Try checking out a solia- they'll run you about 80 dollars, but they're so much better than chi- and cheaperChi vs. regular/cheap straightener.?
It really depends on your hair type. If your hair is more on the thin/wavy side, you should be fine with a drugstore brand straightener.

However, for thicker wavy/curly hair, DEFINITELY invest in a Chi. The difference is incredible; not only does it heat up faster and get hotter, but it will cut your straightening time in half. You will also enjoy longer-lasting results and your hair will have more of a ';stick straight'; look.

I have very curly hair and I have owned both a Conair straightener from Target and a $120 Sedu straightener, which is one of Chi's biggest rivals. I cannot even imagine going back to a drugstore brand straightener anymore. Yes, the Chi is more expensive, but it's definitely a good investment in the end. I've seen how well it worked on both my curly-haired friends and myself.

Sorry if I sound like a walking advertisement for expensive straighteners... just throwing out my 2 cents :)
My stylist recommended a Chi when i asked witch straighteners worked the best..I ended up getting a Pro-Touch witch costed a little less but it works AMAZINGLY. So I guess it just depends on if you r getting it for yourself or if its a gift to you from someone else.. =D
Chi's are so so so so so so much better!

They heat up faster, work better, last longer meaning

hair wise, it stays perfect longer and better warranty.
