What's the difference between ceramic straighteners and normal metal plated straighteners?

I have normal plain metal plates on my straighteners, and wondered if it is worth spending money on new ceramic plates when my old straighteners are working fine??What's the difference between ceramic straighteners and normal metal plated straighteners?
Damage to ur hair.. ceramic irons cause less damage :DWhat's the difference between ceramic straighteners and normal metal plated straighteners?
well,

if you use a normal straightener every day, you are more likely to burn your hair and get split ends. but thats if you use it every day. ceramic i think has this special coating on top of normal metal plates. you wont burn your hair as easily with ceramic.

so it depends on you.

if you're just focusing on getting it straight,i wouldnt buy a new one. 'specially if you get a regular trim like once a month or something.

but if youre really focused on your split ends, and DONT have a regular trim, get a new one.

but if you do get reg. trims and are still focused on split ends, dont get a new one. you already spend money on the cuts, so it isnt worth spending even more on a new straightener.

If they are working good, don't spend money on a new one.

I think ceramic means that it works better.

Actually,I'm not sure.

My best advice would be to just stick with the straightener that you have now if it works good enough. :]
A ceramic flat iron is not only better for your hair but it works better.
the ceramic ones are better for your hair:)
well cermic ones work better, and they are better for your hair, but if you like your one stick to it.
