Are professional (expensive) straighteners better than drugstore (cheap) straighteners?

I am doing a science fair project for school and i want your opinion. Are professional (expensive) straighteners better than drugstore (cheap) straighteners?
It is dependent on your hair texture. A cheaper iron may work fine if you have minor wave with fine hair... but you may need something a little more heavy duty for a stronger wave. The cost may not be important, but you may be better off getting a professional iron because they are considered industrial strength and there for will work better then one purchased from a department store or drugstore. Are professional (expensive) straighteners better than drugstore (cheap) straighteners?
not necessarily. you don't have to spend a fortune on Straighteners to have a good pair. I have found that the best ones are generally mid-range, something along the lines of remington and babyliss. it depends what you want them for really, don't go too cheap for straighteners, curling tongues however are just as good cheap as expensive. Hope this helped :)
i got one for 15 dollars at walmart, it works really good.

but it damages my hair a lot. ): they have this one at sallys that's compared to the chi, but it's only 50 instead of like, 150.

i want it really bad
my sister got one for $30 at walmart a year ago and it still works great and when my sis got a $90 one it didn't work good and she uses it on me and it works super fast and we both have completly different hair
yeah if you get a better one(more expensive)

you will get better results.
Professional straighteners get hotter, and that makes them easier to use, with better results. :)
no they all work the same to me

i guess it depends on the texture of your hair
