Is a ceramic straightener healthier for my hair than a metal one?

I HAVE a metal straightener and I feel like ceramic makes my hair shiner, smoother and is healthier. But is that Conair Steam Straightener even better? It has metal plates but I like the way it combs through the hair unlike regular straighteners. I just want what works and is best for my hair! Does anyone also have a hair care product for before or after straightening that helps to heal my hair? I don't use deep conditioning because my hair is very thin.Is a ceramic straightener healthier for my hair than a metal one?
