okay so i bought the Remington TStudio Teflon Fiber Ceramic Straightener, and since it has like fabric-y stuff on the plates, can i still use a heat protectant on my hair? or will it mess up the fabric stuff??????

p.s. my heat protectant is from ion and it is like oil-y stuff, so if you put too much your hair looks greasy.
