Someone told me I need to use products in my hair first otherwise my hair will become dry and damaged. I have normal hair. Not at all curly.I want to know if I need to use products , which one is the best? Please advice.I want it to last a few days. 3-4 days would be ideal.I want to straighten my hair temporarily using a ceramic straightener.Do i need to use any products with that?
Well, I straighten my hair all the time. I cannot stand my curly hair.
I'll give you a list of what I use, that my stylist recommended (for me), in the order she recommended I use-
+ Shampoo- Matrix Sleek Look
+ Conditioner- same as above
+ Bed Head Control Freak Serum (for frizz)
+ an iron guard- my stylist suggested Matrix Iron Smoother but since I use a Chi iron, I use Chi Iron Guard (this is definitely a must so you wont damage your hair with the flat iron!)
+ Silk Drops or any hair glosser, to make your hair shiny
I think it's safe for me to recommend all of those products except maybe the shampoo and conditioner. My stylist said that she recommended that brand/line because she thought it would work for MY hair since I straighten it fairly often, but she wouldn't recommend it to someone with a different type of hair.
But anyway, my hair comes out fine. No frizz or anything, and lasts up until when I wash my hair, which is 3 days later. Of course, you have to do touch-ups every day, but it doesn't take long at all.I want to straighten my hair temporarily using a ceramic straightener.Do i need to use any products with that?
I dont know what type of hair you have but if you do not do this often I would suggest using a hair product that would protect your hair aginst heat. Sleek by matix has a good hair protecting spray that I use for blowdrying and straightning. you could also try using a blowdryer to straighten you hair. That always makes my hair look better then if I straighten it.
well if you're using a flat iron then my recommendation would to use bumble and bumble heat protectant spray... it'll make it really smooth and shiny as well as protect against damage. Anytime you curl it with a curling iron or hot rollers you can use this spray too... it'll hold curl as well as giving a shine.
you can get it from most upscale salons. its a bit pricey but you really do get what you pay for when it comes to hair products and services.
I found those straighteners very awkward to use and my hair doesn't react well to intense heat like that. What I use and it works for me is a hair brush that has metal on the base of the brush and when your blowing your hair dry that base gets really hot and the continual brushing and pulling and the heat of that base pulls your hair straight.
How to Straighten your Hair With a Flat Iron

Well, im not so sure about a product that last days, but there are sprays that you spray on your hair to keep it shiny and that block out the heat damage and dont split your ends. That is always the easiest just get a spray all kinds of companys have them now, they are not hard to find anymore.
I use Luster's Pink Oil Spray..works great and it's really affordable
if your hair isn't very curly, it should be able to stay straight for a few days... though you may have to do a touch up each morning, nothing more than 1 minute.
Nexxus Heat Protexx is a very good heat protectant for hair. This helps your hair stay healthy even with the intense heat of a straightening iron.
Also, you should never go more than 2 days without washing your hair, so straighten it, leave it in for 2 days, and wash it.
Otherwise, your hair will be greasy and not look good straight anyway.
Good luck!
Yes! You really should put a product in your hair first to avoid drying and damage. I use the Regis Design Line straightening products, and I always get compliments on how straight, soft, and shiny my hair looks. And, I wash my hair everyday, but if for some reason you don't want to, it will last until you wash it. Good luck!
