Okay, well I have naturally wavy, thick hair, %26amp; the only flat iron that has worked for me is by Chi. I have the skinny 1'; one %26amp; it's the bomb.... It takes me 15 min. to do my hair %26amp; it's half way down my back. It's at any Beauty supply store....
Go for ceramic flat irons. they cause less damage. Go to Sally Beauty Supply to find them.
chi! it doesnt have heat settings, but it is like the best sraightener! no joke. it works really well, even in humidity! it is pricey but worth it. it will last for a while too

the best kind to get would be a ceramic. it takes the heat and stores it in places where it cant damage your hair as much. do not get a wet to dry because those will fry off your hair. hope this helped ^_^

chi, sedu, GHD, ISO these are the ones i have heard of :] but i heard that the chi is really really good. my friend uses it and her hair is GORGEOUS! but the gdh is really pricey so if ur willing to pay alot of money, go for it! the sedu and ISO's are good too but less money than the GHD. the solia is also good too :]

and the GHD is the best selling flat iron in the UK!
chi and t3 are overrated. just make sure of two things.

1) it's either ceramic or tourmaline ( for even heat distribution) and 2) that it has an adjustable heat setting (start at the lowest and once you reach the setting that works, leave it there, no need to fry your hair)
Hot Tools is what I use and its lasted a year so far and still works great. You buy it where they sell Chi but its wayyyyy cheaper. I think I paid $30-$40 for mine.

Paul Mitchell just released a line of straighteners a few months ago and they go to like 400+ degrees but theyre really expensive.
I have a chi and I love it. All chi flat irons have a lifetime guarantee, which is SO cool. They are able to heat up to 325 degrees so they make your hair really straight. Once you buy a chi you are never going to want to use anything else. I don't know anyone who has a chi that has any complaints, they're awesome

They are supposed to be far better than the CHI, Sedu, %26amp; Solia.
The CHI or the T3 tourmaline are both great brands. I also heard Babyliss is good. Drugstore flatirons are useless, once you try a good one you'll wonder how you ever survived without it!

Staticky hair--use a leave in hair condition, they work wonders for static and then just use whatever products you normally would along with it. Ive used Thermasilk leave-in conditioner for years and it works great and is cheap too! As far as straighteners go, look around and see what you like. It's been my experience that static in the hair comes from lack of moisture. Use a good conditioner and/or hot oil treatment...that should help.


I have a few ceramic curling irons...they are the BEST! I lucked up and found one at Dollar General for $7, but you might not have DG where you live. I'd say try Wal-Mart or Sally's Beauty Supply. They are nationwide and will have ceramic irons to fit your budget. Good luck!

When you're without straightners I find an easy way to get rid of static is to rub a dryer sheet (eg - Bounce, etc) on your hair.

I took a Chi. The main thing you can take is a converter. The right converter. Make sure it is for Italy. It should be one with 2 round-pins. Get one that has dfferent levels of voltage output. You can adjust it to your needs. A hair iron would use a low output.





Depending on how long you are staying... I had friends that just bought one over there. We lived there for 4 months so it was worth it. If you are only going for a few weeks, you can even buy a cheap one here and get the converter and save money.
