I have thick curly, frizzy hair and I've gone through 3-4 different types of straighteners before I found what I call my miracle straighteners. Their from Remington and their solid ceramic, you can purchase them from Argos(that's where I got mine).
I made the mistake of purchasing ceramic coated irons and the coating came of and stuck to my hair. I would definitely recommend the solid ceramic straighteners, I bought the medium sized GHD ones and they are fantastic and have gave me no trouble. If there was to be a problem with a GHD product even after the first years warranty runs out you can send back your straighteners and they will replace them for you, it normally costs around 拢25.00 sterling.

Ceramic.. and ghd's are the best you can get!!
Ceramic coated hair irons are the best and a lot of people recomend GHD's, but there have been reports of electrical faults (as featured on BBC Watch Dog).
